Frequently asked questions

They're original. We buy the bottles with an invoice from authorised distributors, and we make the decants from them. We don't sell imitations or “inspired by” perfumes.

Every decant label carries an internal batch code, so we know exactly which bottle it was filled from. You can find out who we are and how we work on the About us page.

It's original perfume, filled by hand from the manufacturer's bottle into a 2, 3, 5 or 10 ml glass atomiser. The perfume is the same, only the amount is smaller, so you can test it at your own pace or take it with you on the go.

You don't get the bottle or the manufacturer's box, only the atomiser with the perfume.

• 2 ml: if you don't know the perfume and just want to see if you like it;
• 3 ml: if you want to wear it for 15 days, in different situations;
• 5 ml: if you wear it often or want to keep it in your bag;
• 10 ml: if you already know you like the perfume.

At 3 sprays a day, each size lasts like this:

• 2 ml: 30 sprays, 10 days;
• 3 ml: 45 sprays, 15 days;
• 5 ml: 75 sprays, 25 days;
• 10 ml: 150 sprays, 50 days.

With an extrait, one spray a day is enough, so it lasts three times longer.

You only really get to know a perfume after a few days on your own skin, including how it changes from morning to evening. With a decant you pay a fraction of the price and find out whether the full bottle is worth it, and the atomiser slips easily into your bag.

No. We fill it straight from the original bottle into a new, sterilised glass atomiser, without adding alcohol or water, and we never mix perfumes together. At the end we seal the decant and put the label on.

Courier delivery starts at €5.90 (€11.90 to Ireland) and is free on orders over €30. Your parcel arrives in 2–11 business days, depending on the country. When we hand it to the courier, we email you the tracking number and a tracking link.

Yes, we deliver to EU countries, except Cyprus and Malta. Delivery takes 2–11 business days depending on the country.

You can pay online by card (Visa or Mastercard), or with Apple Pay or Google Pay. You'll see all the available methods at checkout. Card payments go through a secure connection, and we don't store your card details.

Yes, as long as the decant is unopened and unused. You have 14 calendar days from receipt to withdraw from the contract. Perfume is a cosmetic product, so a decant that has been unsealed after delivery can't be returned, for hygiene and health protection reasons (art. 16 letter e of Government Emergency Ordinance no. 34/2014).

For a perfume you haven't worn before, it's better to get a 2 or 3 ml decant. All the conditions are in the Returns policy.

Write to us at contact@decant-parfum.ro as soon as you can, preferably within 48 hours of receiving it, with your order number and a few photos. We'll send you the correct decant for free, shipping included, or give you a full refund for it.

We protect each decant separately and put it in sturdy packaging, so it doesn't break or leak in transit. The seal on the atomiser shows you it reached you exactly as it left us.

How long a perfume lasts on you, and how it changes on your skin, depends on a few things:

• concentration: in general, an Extrait de Parfum lasts longer than an Eau de Parfum, and that lasts longer than an Eau de Toilette;
• skin: dry skin holds perfume less well, so an unscented moisturiser applied beforehand helps;
• heat: when it's warm, the perfume smells stronger but evaporates faster;
• getting used to it: after a while you stop smelling your own perfume, even though the people around you still can.

• upright, with the cap on;
• at room temperature, away from sunlight and humidity, so not in the bathroom or in a car in the sun;
• away from naked flames, because perfume is flammable;
• out of the reach of children.

It's best to use it within 12 months of opening it.
