Who we are
Decant Parfum is an independent online shop based in Bucharest, a brand of the company THE AXN SRL. We sell 2, 3, 5 and 10 ml decants of original niche and designer perfumes, which we fill ourselves from full bottles.
We have no connection with the fragrance houses whose products we sell, and the brands belong to their owners.
Why decants
A few seconds of sniffing a perfume on a paper strip doesn't tell you much. The top notes fade within the first minutes, and what is left on your skin by evening can be quite different. It can also smell different on you than on someone else, so it's worth wearing it for a while before you commit to a full bottle.
A decant costs far less than a bottle and is enough to wear for several days in a row. It also helps if you want one perfume for the office and another for the evening without buying two full bottles. And it is small enough to carry in your bag.
Where the perfume comes from
We buy only original bottles, from authorised distributors and with an invoice. We don't sell imitations or "inspired by" perfumes.
The perfume goes into the decant exactly as it was in the bottle. We add no alcohol or water, and we fill each decant from a single bottle without mixing perfumes.
How we make a decant
- When a new bottle arrives, we check the packaging and the seal, then note the manufacturer's batch code. Only after that do we log it and use it for decants.
- We use only new glass atomisers, sterilised before filling, and we never reuse a container. Glass doesn't change the scent of the perfume. The spray is fine, just like on the original bottle.
- We fill the perfume by hand, with sterile tools, in a clean space we use only for this. We decant one perfume at a time, never two at once, so the scents don't mix, and we keep them exposed to air and light for as short a time as possible.
- We close the decant tightly and seal it. The label shows the perfume name and brand, the concentration, the volume and an internal batch code. If the seal is intact, the decant hasn't been opened since it left us.
- For every internal code we have recorded the batch code of the bottle we filled from and the day we made the decant. If you want to know which bottle your decant comes from, send us the code from the label.
