Refund Policy

This policy sets out the conditions under which products bought from the Decant Parfum website, operated by THE AXN SRL, can be returned, in line with Government Emergency Ordinance no. 34/2014 on consumer rights in contracts concluded with traders (GEO 34/2014) and with European consumer protection law.

Our decants are cosmetic products: original perfumes transferred from the manufacturer’s bottle into glass atomizers, which are sealed before dispatch. Because they are applied directly to the skin, for reasons of hygiene and health protection the right of withdrawal applies to decants that are unopened and unused, as explained in detail below.

In short

You have 14 calendar days from receiving your parcel to withdraw from the contract, and you don’t need to give a reason.
Decants that are unopened and unused can be returned: the safety seal is intact and the atomizer has not been sprayed.
Decants that are damaged in transit, not as described or sent by mistake are replaced free of charge or refunded in full.
Refunds are made within 14 calendar days of the date you told us about your decision to withdraw.

Right of withdrawal

As a consumer, you have the right to withdraw from a contract concluded at a distance within 14 calendar days, without having to give a reason and without bearing any costs other than the direct cost of returning the products.

The withdrawal period expires 14 calendar days after:

the day on which you, or a third party you have named (other than the carrier), take physical possession of the products;
for an order with several products delivered separately, the day on which you take physical possession of the last product.

Exception: opened decants

Under Article 16(e) of GEO 34/2014, the right of withdrawal does not apply to the supply of sealed goods that are not suitable for return due to health protection or hygiene reasons and were unsealed by the consumer after delivery.

Every decant is delivered with a safety seal. A decant is considered opened when:

the safety seal has been broken, removed or damaged;
the cap or the spray mechanism has been taken apart.

A decant that has been sprayed is no longer sealed, because using it means removing the seal. Opened decants cannot be returned under the right of withdrawal. This exception does not affect your rights for products that are damaged, not as described or sent by mistake, described below.

If you don’t know a perfume yet, we recommend starting with a 2 ml or 3 ml decant: that is exactly what decants are for.

Conditions for returned products

To be accepted under the right of withdrawal, products must meet all of the following conditions:

the decant is unopened, with the safety seal intact, and unused;
the decant label is present and legible;
the product is returned together with everything you received (pouch, box, protective packaging, where applicable) and, if relevant, with any gifts offered with that order;
the product is packed properly, so that it does not break or leak in transit.

You are liable for any diminished value of the products resulting from handling them in any way other than what is necessary to establish their nature, characteristics and functioning. Returned decants that have been opened are not eligible for a refund; on request, they can be sent back to you, with the shipping cost paid by you.

How to exercise your right of withdrawal

1. Tell us about your decision to withdraw

Before the withdrawal period expires, let us know your decision in one of the following ways:

an email to contact@decant-parfum.ro, stating your order number and the products you are returning;
the model withdrawal form below, provided for by GEO 34/2014 (using it is not mandatory);
any other unequivocal statement of your decision to withdraw from the contract, sent by post to THE AXN SRL, Calea Moșilor, Nr 88, Sc F, Ap 82, Bucharest, Romania.

We will confirm that we have received your request by email.

2. Send the products back

Send the products back without undue delay and no later than 14 calendar days after the day you told us about your decision to withdraw, to this address: THE AXN SRL, Calea Moșilor, Nr 88, Sc F, Ap 82, Bucharest, Romania.

Please contact us before you send the parcel, so we can tell you how to pack it and which courier to use.

You bear the direct cost of returning the products, unless the product is damaged, not as described or sent by mistake. We cannot accept parcels that we would have to pay the postage on at delivery.

3. Get your money back

THE AXN SRL will refund all payments received from you without undue delay and no later than 14 calendar days after the day we are informed of your decision to withdraw. If you withdraw from the whole order, we also refund the original delivery cost, up to the standard delivery rate we offer.

The refund is made using the same payment method as the original transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise. If you have agreed to a refund by bank transfer, we will ask you for your IBAN. We do not charge any fees for refunds.

We may withhold the refund until we have received the returned products or until you provide proof that you have sent them back, whichever is earlier.

Damaged, not as described or wrong products

Every decant is checked and carefully packed before dispatch. If your parcel still arrives with a problem, we take care of it:

a decant that is broken, cracked or has leaked in transit;
an atomizer that does not spray;
a different perfume or size from the one you ordered;
a product missing from the parcel.

Please write to us at contact@decant-parfum.ro as soon as possible, ideally within 48 hours of receiving the parcel, giving your order number and attaching photos of the product and the packaging. If the outer packaging is visibly damaged on delivery, we recommend opening the parcel in front of the courier and noting the problem.

In these cases we replace the product free of charge, shipping costs included, or, if a replacement is not possible, we refund its full price. The exception for opened decants does not apply to products that are damaged, not as described or sent by mistake.

Legal guarantee of conformity

The products we sell come with the legal guarantee of conformity provided for by Government Emergency Ordinance no. 140/2021 on certain aspects concerning contracts for the sale of goods. If a product is not in conformity, you are entitled to have it brought into conformity by replacement, to a proportionate price reduction or to termination of the contract, under the conditions set by law.

How a perfume smells is personal: longevity, intensity and the way it develops on your skin vary with skin type, climate and the amount applied. These differences, as well as slight colour variations between production batches of the same perfume, are not a lack of conformity.

Resolving disputes

We want to resolve any complaint directly and amicably, so please contact us first. If we cannot reach a solution, you can turn to the National Authority for Consumer Protection (ANPC), including through the Alternative Dispute Resolution (SAL) procedure.
